How I work

I tend to have a less structured and more creative free flow process for projects. But, I do like to follow a loose timeline of events to get from point A to point B.

Initial contact

Either by e-mail or phone we have a short discussion about your project goals and expectations. I try to gather as much information as possible during this phase to prepare me for the estimate process.

Estimate process

I take all the gathered information, carefully weigh it out and determine how long it’ll take and how much it should cost. I present this to the client via e-mail for approval. I’m flexible and often times adjust my estimates as necessary to meet new needs or client concerns.

Contract & payment

Once the estimate is approved, I send out a .PDF contract package for the client to sign and return with initial payment, often 50% of the total estimate.

Creation & presentation

After receiving initial payment I begin the creation process. This process varies dependent on the project. Sometimes I have a perfect idea during the initial contact other times I go through several ideas on paper until I find the one that is ready for the big show.

Once I have a design direction I present to the client with notes and explanations of my thought process. I also keep my fingers crossed.

Construction & adjustments

Upon receiving design approval, I begin building out the project and making tiny adjustments as I go along to improve the design and code.

Final presentation & approval

After I’ve reached completion level: Happy, I present to the client in finished form for final approval.

Final payment

Once approved, the client makes the final balance due payment.

Deliver

Paid in full the project is now delivered as agreed in the project scope.

Support

I make myself available officially for 90 days of code/design bug support. But, this often turns into a situation where I fix whatever needs to be fixed, regardless of when it’s found. However, I do reserve the right to refuse support if it’s clear someone else broke it.
